Tattoo Aftercare
Proper care is essential for beautiful, long-lasting results.
Your new tattoo is fresh artwork on your body. How you care for it in the first few weeks will significantly impact how it heals and looks for years to come. Follow these guidelines carefully.
Simple is Best
Keep your aftercare routine straightforward to ensure the best healing results.
- Leave bandage on for 24-72 hours.
- Remove bandage.
- Gently wash the tattoo with mild, fragrance-free soap and warm water.
- Inspect tattoo for residual sticky or slimy spots. Rewash if needed.
- Pat dry with a clean towel (don't rub).
A Clean Wound is a Happy Wound
A fresh tattoo is technically a wound, and keeping it clean and dry is crucial for proper healing.
Only apply a minimal amount of fregrance-free moisturizer after the the tattoo begins to feel tight or starts peeling. Moisturising your tattoo is purely for your comfort and does not aid the healing process. Overmoisturizing can actually hinder the healing process.
